Custom Details is an in-house auto detailing, paint protection film, ceramic coating and window tinting shop at 3433 SW Multnomah Blvd in Multnomah Village, Portland, Oregon. The shop is owned by Liam Flavell, has served Portland drivers since 2017, and holds a 4.9 star rating from 70 Google reviews. Our story
Custom Details first opened to customers in the Portland area in 2017 as an interior and exterior detailing operation. Detailing is still the foundation of everything we do, because a coating or a film is only as good as the paint underneath it. Soon after opening, the shop earned its certifications in the installation and maintenance of Feynlab and Global products, and the menu grew into what it is today: paint protection film, ceramic coatings, window tint, and full detailing packages for daily drivers, trucks, minivans, exotics and classic muscle.
Today the shop works out of a brick-and-mortar facility on SW Multnomah Boulevard, in the middle of Multnomah Village. Drivers come to us from across the metro, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Lake Oswego, Gresham and Vancouver, and our pick-up and drop-off service makes the trip easier for anyone who cannot spare a morning.
What makes Custom Details different
In-house bays, not a driveway
Every service we sell is performed inside our own shop. Paint protection film and ceramic coatings need a clean, controlled space: dust, pollen and Portland drizzle are the enemies of a good install, and a film edge or a coating cure that happens outdoors is a compromise you will see later. Working in-house also means your vehicle is where our tools, lighting and cure time live, and where we can look the work over the next morning before it goes back to you.
The brands we chose and why
We are a certified Feynlab and Global installation shop, and we picked those two brands on purpose. For paint protection film we install Global Films, a self-healing TPU film backed by a 10 year manufacturer warranty. For coatings we install Feynlab, in four tiers with 1 year, 3 year and 5 year warranties plus a matte formula for satin and frozen finishes. For window film we install Global carbon and ceramic IR tint. We would rather master a short list of products we trust than carry every brand a distributor offers.
Warranty handling
A warranty is only useful if someone stands behind it. We install every film and coating to the manufacturer's specification so the warranty stays valid, and if anything ever peels, bubbles or fails, you bring the car back to us and we take it from there. Window tint work in Oregon also comes with the installer certificate the state requires, listing the film's light transmittance and reflectance, so you have proof the install is legal.
Our process
Every coating and film starts with a proper exterior detail: wash, decontamination, and polishing where the finish needs it, so we are protecting clean, corrected paint rather than sealing swirl marks under a coating. Film is fitted to your vehicle panel by panel, and coatings are applied and given the cure time the chemistry needs before the car goes home. Interior work gets the same attention, from a basic interior clean to a full interior detail with leather conditioning.
Services and starting prices
Everything below is installed or performed at the shop. Prices are starting points from our service pages; the exact number depends on the vehicle and its condition.
- Paint protection film: Global Films self-healing TPU with a 10 year warranty, in partial front, full front and full body coverage, plus color PPF and matte PPF. Matte PPF starts at $2,599 for a full front and $7,599 for a full body; gloss packages are quoted per vehicle.
- Ceramic coating: Feynlab Original (1 year), V3 (3 year), Plus (5 year) and Matte (3 year) packages, quoted per vehicle at the shop.
- Window tinting: Global carbon tint from $99 and ceramic IR tint from $159, installed to the limits in Oregon's tint statute.
- Full detailing packages: Basic $199, Full $399, Full + Polish $599.
- Exterior and interior detailing: Hand Wash $89, Exterior Detail + Polish $499, Engine bay $50, Basic Interior $139, Interior Detail $259.
Meet the owner
Custom Details is owner-operated by Liam Flavell. Liam opened the shop in 2017, the email address in our footer is his, and if you read through our Google reviews you will see his name come up from customers describing the work. Owner-operated matters in this trade because the person who sold you the install is the same person accountable for how it looks in year three.
Pick-up, drop-off and white glove service
If it is hard to get to Multnomah Village during shop hours, ask about pick-up and drop-off. We can transport your vehicle to and from the shop for paint protection, window tinting and detailing. Select high-end vehicles, exotics and collector cars may qualify for white glove service at your location by arrangement; everything else is done in our bays.
