Oregon requires at least 35% visible light transmission (VLT) through the front side windows, measured through the glass and film together, using film rated 50% VLT or lighter, with no more than 13% reflectance on any window. Passenger cars follow the same 35% rule on the rear side and back windows, while trucks, SUVs and vans that qualify as multipurpose passenger vehicles may run darker film behind the driver. The windshield may only be tinted across the top six inches, which is what our windshield strip package covers.

Carbon CS is our color-stable carbon film: it will not fade or turn purple, it blocks up to 99% of UV and rejects about 70% of infrared heat, and it starts at $99. Ceramic IR uses non-metallic ceramic particles to block a much larger share of infrared heat without interfering with GPS, phone or radio signals, and it starts at $159. If your car sits in the sun or you want the coolest cabin at a legal shade, choose Ceramic IR; if you mainly want privacy, UV protection and a clean look on a budget, Carbon CS is the value pick.

Keep every tinted window fully rolled up for three to five days after the install so the adhesive can bond and the remaining moisture can evaporate. A light haze or a few small water pockets during that first week are a normal part of curing and clear on their own; they are not bubbles in the film. You drive home the same day with the windows up, and once the film has cured you can clean the inside of the glass with an ammonia-free cleaner.

Every tint job is backed by the film manufacturer's warranty against bubbling, peeling and fading, and you can ask us for the written terms for the film on your car.
